Enforces state laws in the maintaining of order and the preventing of crime at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. Responsible for the safety and security of visitors and employees of the park, patrolling designated areas in the patrol vehicle or on foot to ensure a safe environment. Respond to complaints, investigate crimes and issue citations making arrests when necessary. Obtain evidence and testify in court. Investigate accidents, care for injured and/or summons medical care for such persons. Control crowds at the scene of accidents, public events or high traffic periods. Prepare all necessary reports submitting them to the appropriate persons as well as keeping daily log of events. Maintain good public relations and perform other duties in order to ensure outstanding customer service.

Enforces state laws in the maintaining of order and the preventing of crime in a Kentucky State Park; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Must work in all types of weather. Conditions are consistent with other law enforcement officers. Must have ability to run, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull heavy objects and individuals. Must be able to be trained in the use of weapons and defensive tactics and in the use of other law enforcement related equipment.
Additional Requirements :
Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check. Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317.
