Dexis is seeking an experienced Policy Analyst to provide economic analysis with a focus on eradication of extreme poverty to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Bureau of Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL). The Policy Analyst will be a key member of the newly created Policy Analysis Team. The work location for this position will be in Washington, DC at USAID’s headquarters. This is a full-time position. The anticipated start date for this position is October 2015.
Responsibilities
- Develop analytical pieces and presentations concerning top Agency and US Government (USG) priorities and emerging priorities in global development policy dialogues
- Provide research, analytical contributions, including “what-if” scenarios, cost/benefit analyses, and other inputs to policy analysis underway by other team members, other PPL Offices and other Agency Bureaus
- Build an analytical base for major engagement opportunities (e.g. Frontiers in Development Forum and Extreme Poverty Evidence Summit)
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in economics, international public health, political science, or relevant field and a minimum five (5) years’ work experience, including three (3) years of relevant work experience related to global development
- Experience as a researcher and/or analyst required, including demonstrated experience authoring policy research papers, policy briefs and blog pieces related to global development policies
- Superior working knowledge of USG global development policies and leading global development policy research institutions preferred
- Experience in writing about various health topics, with a special focus on extreme poverty
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required
