Founded in 2002 by President William J. Clinton, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems around the world and expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and other illnesses. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via improved organization of commodity markets and more effective local management. By working in association with governments and other NGO partners, CHAI is focused on large scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower pricing agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In addition, CHAI’s teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to tackle many of the largest barriers to effective treatment and care.
Position Overview:
The Associate, HIV Market Intelligence will support the CHAI HIV Access Program’s market analytics activities, focusing primarily on antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) for HIV/AIDS patients. His/her primary objective will be to ensure that market knowledge is effectively captured, communicated, and applied to increasing access to medicines. This will require strong quantitative skills to aggregate and analyze data from multiple sources. In this role, the Associate will become a go-to person for HIV market knowledge and will develop strong relationships with various teams within CHAI, as well as senior management.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze and draw conclusions from large volumes of data from both the demand and supply sides of the ARV market in order to advance CHAI’s collaborations with suppliers, inform strategic decision-making and assess the impact of CHAI’s work
- Manage the development and maintenance of market intelligence databases, quantitative models and forecasts related to treatment for HIV/AIDS
- Create quantitative models and analyses to estimate the impact of market interventions
- Design data collection approaches and interface with CHAI’s country teams to gather valuable market insights
- Drive the development and dissemination of global forecasts of antiretroviral medicines, working closely with global partners and other CHAI teams
- Develop communication materials, including published reports, based upon analyses
- Present analytical findings to internal and external audiences
- Provide analytical support to various CHAI teams on HIV/AIDS-related questions
Minumim Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years relevant work experience in management consulting, investment banking or similar environment
- Affinity for analytics and information management, with strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative modeling skills
- Extensive experience with database management and comfort working with large datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present information in a compelling manner
- Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate and take initiative
- Ability to identify new analyses and methodologies to expand CHAI’s knowledge of the HIV/AIDS market
- Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity and work in a very fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment
- Ability to learn on the job quickly and absorb and synthesize a broad range of information
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
- Available for 20-30% travel
- Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience
- Experience living or working abroad, particularly in developing countries
