Position Description:
SI is seeking an experienced, full-time Billing / A/P Clerk to process client invoices, primarily for USAID. Work collaboratively with Project Staff to ensure data entering accounting system will generate accurate invoices. Support the Accounts Payable cycle to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Process assigned client invoices once a month.
- Maintain billing and A/P files in good order.
- Set-up vendors and employees in accounting system.
- Maintain daily A/R review and input.
- Maintain set-up and maintain licenses in Accounting and A/P systems.
- Assist with reviewing and processing invoices in A/P system.
- Assist with preparing payments – checks, wires, ACHs
- Assist with other general accounting duties as assigned.
- Maintain high level of customer service with Project Staff, including training.
Qualifications:
- As least one year experience working in Accounting/Bookkeeping.
- Associates Degree or equivalent, working to four degree (Concentration in accounting preferred).
- Good knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation; office practices, procedures, and documents.
- Knowledge of electronic accounting software/database; basic Excel and Work skills.
- Knowledge of the use of office machines and equipment.
- Knowledge of operating practices; policies and procedures of an accounting department; ability to understand and interpret pertinent policies and procedures clearly and accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, business professionals, and the general public.
- Ability to project a positive, concerned image to the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish, maintain, and prepare records and reports.
