In Accordance with IBEW Labor Agreement – Hourly Rate: $18.38
Job Summary:
Performs as a laborer for basic operation and maintenance functions for the water distribution system and/or at the water production facilities. This is a generalized labor position under the direction of a supervisor, certified operator or assisting a lead position.
Work Schedule
:
The typical work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday during March – October and Wednesday through Sunday during November – February.
The typical work hours are 7:30am to 4pm, with some overtime throughout the year. Days and hours of duty may vary as required or under unusual circumstances.
Detailed Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- May assist in performing preventative and corrective maintenance as assigned.
- May assist in inspecting and troubleshooting assets, structures and equipment using various tools and gauges to meet established standards and conditions.
- May obtain necessary parts, supplies, and tools through established and revised procedures.
- May perform routine cleaning, lubrications, adjustment, inspection, and repairs.
- Can assist in performing basic field and/or facility tests in order evaluate and correct a condition or process.
- Can assist in diagnosing basic operational problems and takes appropriate actions.
- Must maintain complete and accurate records of work performed.
- Must follow related processes and procedures for assigned functions; verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to Supervisor.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must maintain a valid Indiana Chauffeurs License.
- Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions; i.e., SOP’s, work orders, other documents, etc.
- Requires being self-directed to carry out tasks and assignments in a team or individual environment.
- Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
- May need to have computer skills for basic data entry.
