Choice Teachers are looking to recruit a number of proactive and eager, full time or part-time, Cover supervisors, for our contracted schools based in St Albans in Hertfordshire.
If you are someone who is looking for an opportunity to work in education or would like to pursue a career as a teacher, this maybe your chance. You must be well organised and be available to cover day to day absences between the hours of 8:30am – 3:30pm. The perfect candidate will be very proactive in their approach and be available short notice. You must be willing to go that extra mile to achieve a high level of performance.
The Role of a Cover supervisor:
A “non-teaching” role within schools where they will take responsibility for and supervise the classroom.
As a general rule, it is too cover short term periods of absence, and oversee the completion of work that has been previously set by the permanent Class Teacher, as well as managing the behaviour of the students.
No formal qualifications are technically required to perform the role, it is imperative that someone who holds the responsibility has the ability to manage a class, and as such, those with some formal training such as an Instructor, FE Teacher, TEFL/TESOL/CELTA Teacher are often employed in the position of a Cover Supervisor as they meet the required skill-set, do not let this deter you as full training is offered.
All staff must meet the same standards of vetting and compliance as that of a permanent member of staff, this will require an up to date DBS (with update service) and background check.
