This personable firm of Accountants pride themselves on excellent customer service and have the awards to prove it! From central offices in Berkhamsted, this motivated team works closely with their clients to provide both compliance and business growth services to help them achieve their business goals. Due to growth, they are looking for a Qualified PA to Partner to assist and work closely with the Partner to ensure that their clients continue to receive excellent levels of service.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To plan and manage the audit process and conduct initial audit file reviews to manager standard.

  • To plan, manage and review non audit assignments, e.g. limited companies, partnerships, accounts jobs.

  • To act as a point of contact for all assigned portfolio; to support the team in Partners’ absence to deal with queries.

  • To identify cross selling opportunities within assigned portfolio.

  • To raise fully detailed fee notes on time.

  • To assist in the development of any trainees.

  • To plan and manage portfolio completion in line with internal and external deadlines.

  • To ensure client satisfaction and support for continued growth of the practice.

  • To review account preparation jobs to the equivalent of partner standard and attend clearance meetings where appropriate.

  • To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager, including ad hoc audit work and projects.

This is a senior position within the management team and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of IRIS, Mercia audit programme and experience of 2 or 3 of the following Accounts packages: SAGE, Quickbooks, Xero, MORE, Kashflow, FreeAgent.


Qualifications/Experience required:


  • CCAB qualified person (Combined Chartered Accountant Bodies); must have suitable qualifications to qualify as an R.I.

  • Lead audit role in Practice; Minimum 3 years audit experience

  • Commercial experience desirable but not essential

  • Supervisory experience of onsite staff

  • Experience of managing a portfolio

  • Face to face meeting with clients experience

  • Ideally experienced in developing trainees
