Full Time Benefits and Recruiting Coordinator - Great Parks of Hamilton County - Cincinnati, OH

Recruiting:
Administers Great Parks recruitment program. Develops and implements effective and innovative employee recruitment strategies for job openings.

Develops and implements a recruitment program with an emphasis on diversity.

Recommends and implements internal hiring policies to ensure consistent and legal hiring practices. Develops work procedures to streamline and enhance the hiring process for hiring managers and applicants.

Ensures hiring managers are well trained in professional interviewing and selection techniques, and function within legal limitations. Develop and conduct training programs for hiring managers designed to improve recruiting, interviewing, and hiring efficiencies.

Works with employees and applicants regarding recruitment and hiring questions or concerns.

Develops and maintains professional relationships with community organizations as sources to generate qualified applicants. Schedule and attend job/career fairs as appropriate.

Coordinates with the Marketing and Communication department to develop recruiting materials.

Maintains applicant tracking system including posting positions, screening applicants, and conducting background and driver checks. Reconciles monthly billing statements for applicant software and background checks.

Benefits:
Administers benefit program including medical, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurance programs. Works with broker on the annual renewal of plans including plan design and costs.

Ensures employee understanding of benefit program provisions, benefits and requirements. Answers questions from employees and family members. Provides current information and assistance on all benefit plans. Manages the employee annual open enrollment.

Develops cost control strategies, including wellness initiatives, to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employee.

Coordinates the annual Benefits Day including scheduling benefit providers, vendors, and wellness checks; and promoting the event to employees.

Oversees the COBRA process, including all notifications, and compliance.

Maintains current working knowledge of benefit trends. Participates in area and industry benefit surveys. Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers.

Maintains employee benefit elections through vendor systems. Process insurance company paperwork for enrollments, changes, and terminations. Reconciles monthly insurance billing statements.

Maintains employee benefit elections with payroll vendor to ensure compliance with ACA reporting requirements.

Administers the FMLA program. Tracks leaves, determines eligibility, designates FMLA, issues required notices on a timely basis, requests and monitors certifications, and performs other responsibilities to ensure that Great Parks complies with its policy, and FMLA laws and regulations. Establishes an FMLA process to ensure supervisors are aware of their responsibilities for notification and coordination of leaves with the Administration Division.

Maintains confidential employee medical files.

Maintain Employee Services forms and update as necessary.

Maintains current working knowledge of human resource management requirements and practices covering employee benefits, Medicare, healthcare reform, EEOC, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, and other local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.


Qualifications include an appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience. An example of an acceptable qualification is: Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or related field with over five years related experience. SPHR or PHR certification preferred.

Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices; federal labor laws including EEO, ADA, OSHA, Affordable Care Act, Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) and FLSA.


Great Parks of Hamilton County is accepting applications for the position of Recruiting and Benefits Coordinator based at Winton Centre in Winton Woods. This full-time position is responsible for developing and implementing effective and innovative employee recruitment strategies and administering the Park District benefits program including medical, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurance programs.


Typical starting salary range is $41,060 to $46,193, full position salary range is $41,060 to $61,591. Benefits include: medical, dental and life insurance; paid vacation, sick time and holiday pay; membership in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and free or discounted use of many Great Parks of Hamilton County recreational activities.
