GENERAL OPERATOR
Chemours currently has positions available for General Operators at our site in New Johnsonville, TN. The
Operator
will monitor and operate equipment and facilities, including field equipment, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Additional responsibilities include maintaining safety standards at all times and initiating and following emergency procedures when necessary. The Operator will perform basic maintenance repair and upkeep on area equipment. The Operator could possibly work a 12-hour rotating shift or an 8 hour Monday-Friday day shift, ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, operate a computer, and wear routine safety equipment. The Operator should demonstrate teamwork, the ability to work safely, protect our work and community environment, respect all employees, and work with high ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Start up and shut down (normal and emergency) plant systems and components.
- Visually inspect, monitor equipment and process conditions.
- Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Review, follow and, if qualified, revise detailed process operating procedures, maintenance procedures and safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment to restore to operation.
- Analyze charts and logs to identify potential or actual problems.
- Identify system problems to stabilize plant to normal operating conditions.
- Operate mobile equipment.
- Participate/Lead various site teams.
- Test and measure finished products, and record their activities and manufacturing levels.
- Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.
- Conduct area inspections and audits.

ualifications
In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Ability to navigate the basic tools of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word) and learn new computer systems and software applications with the ability to learn DCS control systems
- Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, short notice call-in if required and to work outdoors
- Willing and able to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Willing and able to climb stairs, ladders; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl; visual acuity for close work; able to reach overhead; able to hear and respond to alarms
- Demonstrate strong communication skills in both written and oral form including following operating procedures
- Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, solve problems, troubleshoot, and possess strong work ethics
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and on teams with minimal supervision
The following skill sets are preferred by the site:
- Process Technology (P-Tech) Associate Degree
- Minimum of 2 years chemical manufacturing environment experience
- Minimum of 3 years industrial/manufacturing environment experience
