The HRIS Team consist of HRIS Director, Sr. HRIS Analysts in New York and HRIS lead and HRIS Analysts in Nairobi, Kenya. This position will be located in New York.


Job Overview/Summary:


The primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of the Human Resource Management System (Workday) in addition to other systems supported by the HRIS team.


We"re looking for a full-time Analyst, HRIS who supports and maintains the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in Workday in addition to the other online HR systems (e.g., Taleo) that support the HR function. The Analyst works with other HRIS Analysts, HR management and other IRC internal groups to improve processes and procedures for maintenance of HRIS systems (internal functions: Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll Interfaces, and other HR functions), runs reports on employee information, and uses analyses to identify business problems and/or support business decisions.


This position requires solid organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Strong proficiency in Human Resources Information System and in MS Office, especially Excel, is required.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Work independently and with other HRIS team members on the implementation of projects to extend Workday functionality and on continuous improvement initiatives. Bugs & Enhancement (Complex- low to Med)

  • Provide first and/or second line support to country program HR users of Workday, using the ServiceNow service management system, to the agreed service level and turnaround times.

  • Expected to backfill Sr. HRIS Analyst during their absence

  • Escalate support issues to other designated HRIS team members, for specialized resolution and quality assurance

  • Provide timely, concise, clear and helpful updates to Workday users on the status of their requests

  • Perform routine scheduled audits of data, access permissions, reports usage, transaction volumes, incomplete processes and transactions, and other required indicators, and record the audit information comprehensively in a dashboard report accessed by senior stakeholders (sustainability dashboard)

  • Ensure that Workday data is being used by country program HR teams to drive their payroll cycles, and compare Workday data with payroll data to measure adherence

  • Support functionality and/or projects specific to the US market, e.g., Workday to Payroll Integration Production support

  • Update training materials and testing materials

  • Train new users on Workday and administrative processing; training includes based on users profile, and report writing under the direction of HRIS Lead.

  • Motivate HR teams and be firm on expectations in using Workday optimally and in keeping staff data up-to-date

  • Collaborate with HRIS colleagues to p roactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the IRC"s current Workday usage, including cross-functional considerations

  • Collaborate with HRIS colleagues to prepare and test the semi-annual Workday upgrade, and communicate with Workday users on the impact of the upgrade

  • Perform Mass employee uploads as needed under the direction of Sr. HRIS Analyst.

  • Perform Workday configuration changes & security changes, such as managing Workday account creation for country program users, taking security structures and data access into account, and ensure that HRIS procedures are being followed in providing access to Workday

  • Perform other special projects as needed

Job Requirements:


  • 4+ years previous experience maintaining& configuring data in a HRIS system

  • Basic understanding of HR practices in Benefits, EEO, Data Security and HIPAA

  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discreetly with extremely confidential information

  • Experience working with large data sets, deep understanding of data relationships, data cleansing practices, and CSV data formats.

  • Experience in working with ADP or similar 3rd party payroll interfaces

  • Experience in preparing and delivering training a plus, both for one-to-one and group training delivery in person or virtual

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access. Excel ability use pivot tables, vlookups, and analytical capabilities.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities; with strong data analysis acumen , and focus on accuracy and attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent customer service, communication (both written and verbal), and cross group collaboration skills required

  • Flexibility in daily schedule, and ability to understand and react quickly to changing priorities

  • Strong follow-through skills and ability to be the driving force behind the completion of multiple projects

  • Experience of working in a globally distributed environment a plus

  • Experience in working with a helpdesk ticketing system a plus
