It began in Denver, Colorado as a candy business in the home of Russell and Clara Stover. The original candy, marketed as “Mrs. Stover’s Bungalow Candies”, changed 20 years later to Russell Stover Candies. The three principles of quality, service and value allow Russell Stover to remain “Only the Finest”. Russell Stover Candles has sales in all 50 states and Canada. We operate 35 company-owned retail shops throughout the United States and at over 70,000 drug stores, card and gift shops, grocery stores, department stores and retails stores. In September 2014, Russell Stover Candies was acquired by Lindt and Sprüngli, a Swiss based international conglomerate sold in more than 80 countries with production sites in Europe and the US, distributing on four continents. About the Corsicana Manufacturing Facility Built in 1997 in the historic small town of Corsicana, TX, this facility produces “Only the Finest” chocolates and candies. This plant typically operates 4 days/wk (Monday-Thursday) and has 2 shifts in a climate controlled (67F) facility. During peak production times, the plant will occasionally work on Fridays and Saturdays to satisfy customer requests for Christmas, Valentine and Easter candy. Approximately 770 people are employed by Russell Stover Candies in Corsicana making it one of the largest employers in the county. Job Description Pack only first quality candy. Pack 2 pieces at 40 a minute, 3 pieces at 30 a minute and 4 pieces at 20 a minute. Requests, receives, secures, maintains, packs, and delivers product (raw and finished) per Russell Stover guidelines. Requires high level of manual dexterity. Must be able to understand specifications for each type of product as established by Russell Stover Candies and recognize deviations from those specifications. Must be able to meet production quotas as established by Russell Stover Candies. Rotates with Packing Line supplier. Must be able to perform all Supplier duties. Performs clean-up activities as assigned. Conforms to rules. Control waste on the line. May be assigned other duties by Supervisor as required. When performing Servers duties: Assure each packer does not run out of candy by requesting, receiving, securing, maintaining supply product (raw and finished). Assure the proper candy is served at each pack station. Must be able to recognize specifications for each type of product and recognize deviations from those specifications as established by Russell Stover Candies. Rotates with packer. Must be able to perform all Packer duties. Assure candy used on the line is in the candy bank on the line. When performing Base duties: Assure the bases that being feed onto the line are the correct number by the merchandizing notes and placed correctly onto the pack line. Must look at every base to assure the correct number and description are on each one. When performing Tray duties: Ensure trays are placed into the box the correct way. When performing Inspector duties: Ensure only 1st quality candy goes to wrapping. Rearrange candy if it is sideways. Remove leakers and scratched candy. Fill the open positions if candy is missing or out of place in the diagram. Mark the inspection steel prior to leaving. While performing all duties, notify leads or supervisor if inferior candy, wrong bases, incorrect description, incomplete boxes or other pertinent questions.
