Major functions, responsibilities, duties of the position include:






  • Design analog blocks, systems or sub-systems using a combination of behavioral modeling tools and transistor level circuit design tools.


  • Draw or oversee the drawing of the custom physical layout of analog circuits


  • Define requirements for internal chip interfaces between the analog and digital circuits


  • Review and support package design and PCB board design


  • Characterize the performance of these ICs using lab equipment


  • Debug performance problems found during characterization of these analog circuits


  • Document the operation and performance of these analog circuits

 






Typically requires a BSEE or equivalent education and 3+ years of experience or an MSEE or equivalent education.






  • Relevant experience with mixed-signal analog IC design such as ADCs, PGAs, DACs, filters, drivers, power management circuits and clocking circuits.


  • Strong grasp of low noise, high linearity design.


  • Intuitive understanding and ability to make system level judgment and associated trade-offs, including amongst power, area, and performance.


  • Experienced in Cadence design environment (Cadence Virtuoso).


  • Digitally assisted analog design techniques (such as RTL and AMS simulation flows).


  • Layout tools (Cadence Virtuoso Layout-XL) and physical verification/extraction.


  • Good written and verbal communication skills.


  • Able to work in a team environment.
