We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Engineer to join the Applications Engineering Team responsible for the both the pre-sales and post-sales support of our Enterprise WLAN product.
This position has a strong customer-facing component, serving as the overall customer-facing Enterprise WLAN hardware resource during design, development and support phases of project lifecycle
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting of complex issues at the system level on WiFi hardware
- Support and interact with internal stakeholders such as WLAN PLM, Software Engineering, and HW AE’s in both US and Asia as well as other BRCM functional teams.
- Manage customer accounts by reproducing, analyzing and resolving complex, hardware problems.
- Must be able to prioritize key issues, drive root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are taken in collaboration with other members of support, PLM and engineering teams.
- Assist customers with RF test and calibration issues
- Assist customers to pass WiFi Regulatory Certification tests
- Review RF circuit schematics and layout
Requirements:
- Total engineering minimum experience required is typically a BS degree and 12 years of experience, an MS degree and 9 years of experience, or a PhD and 6 years of experience, or equivalent
- Education degree should be in EE (Electrical Engineering) or CS (Computer Science) or equivalent.
- Solid RF board level debugging skills and ability to oversee the PCB layout process is a must. An understanding of wireless LAN protocols is preferred.
- Experience using board and schematic and layout tools such as Or-Cad, Allegro, etc.
- Experienced in areas of system design or test scripting applicable to wireless LAN is desirable
- Hands-on familiarity with digital interfaces such as DDR2 and DDR3, pcie2.0, usb3.0, serdes, etc is desirable
- Should be familiar with and competent using logic and signal analyzers.
- Candidate must be a self-starter and must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
