The housing caseworker will perform a variety of duties related to screening and selection work in determining the most qualified applicants to fill vacancies in Section 8 units.
Examples of Duties Performed:
- Interview applicants
- Process applications
- Maintain resident files
- Counsel ineligible applicants
- Prepare various reports
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three (3) or more years of increasingly responsible experience in project planning and social services delivery with families and persons who are elderly and/or disabled
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- Proof of personal auto insurance; acceptable driving record
Desired Skills:
- Friendly, personable and approachable
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Knowledgeable of the challenges, needs and lifestyle issues of the physically, mentally, socially and economically disadvantaged
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to conduct presentations and hold one-on-one meetings
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
