Shipping and Receiving Clerk I Wanted!


GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for receiving and verification of lot, serial number and quantity received of incoming materials. This position is also responsible for processing incoming materials through the inventory management system, processing of freight claims.


MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assigns date Verifies and processes incoming material through the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Assign lot codes to material in the ERP for traceable items.

  • Expedites receiving activities based upon Materials priority listing.

  • Maintains timely flow of incoming material to be inspected and/or routed to host bin locations.

  • Resolves receiving-grief issues directly with Procurement.

  • Ensures proper material identification, segregation, and storage.

  • Maintains packing slip files and prepares for archiving.

  • Follows Quality Management System policies, procedures, and related work instructions.

  • Works closely with members of Manufacturing, Distribution, Engineering, and Quality to ensure good communication and coordination of activities.

  • Continually seeks process improvements and make recommendations to management.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a high school education or equivalent

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate PC skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organization

  • Effective communication and writing skills

  • Proactive, professional, self-starter and able to work well in teams

  • Experience using Standard and Electric Powered Pallet Jacks

  • Previous experience in a regulated work environment

  • Lean Manufacturing: Kaizen and 5S

  • ERP systems experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Requires lifting up to 35 pounds for an individual, up to 50 pounds with assistance

  • Frequent standing, sitting, lifting and reaching overhead

  • Significant use of standard office equipment, including computer keyboard, monitor, and mouse

  • Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes or boots

  • Overtime may be required

  • Class III Medical Device, highly regulated environment
