Job Summary:
The Childcare Provider is responsible for carrying out classroom instruction planned by the TLC WyFLi Program Instructors, which includes helping older siblings of the Preschool students with their homework and caring for the younger siblings. The Childcare Provider is responsible for performing assigned duties during the evening in the Preschool Classroom located at Basic Beginnings South outreach center. This Provider will help prepare children to be successful students and to enhance learning extending into the home.
Be responsible to the concerns and individual needs of each child. Assist in Preschool Classroom as needed.
Facilitate children’s successful completion of tasks by providing support, focused attention, physical proximity, and encouragement and serve as a positive role model.
Document developmental levels and progress of children, adapt provided curriculum to individual needs based on normative information that is age, gender and culturally appropriate.
Take primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining frequent contact with Preschool Instructor, ESOL Instructor, and TLC WyFLi Program Director.
Cooperate with supervisor, staff, parents and concerned community members to conserve, advocate and improve the overall quality of the program. Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.
Compensation: Minimum 10.51 per hour.
Screening Date: Position open until filled, screening to begin immediately.
Start Date: August 24, 2015.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or discipline.
Participate in ongoing, systematic, and documented assessment of student learning for all courses and programs.
Participate actively in Team meetings, division and program activities.

Nonessential Functions: An employee in this position may perform some of these responsibilities on an infrequent basis.

- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work space as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the facilities.
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to perform essential position functions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) and/or at least one (1) year experience teaching in a licensed preschool program.
Preferred:
Associate’s Degree or advanced degree in early childhood education or related field AND at least one (1) year experience teaching in a licensed preschool program with basic knowledge of Common Core Standards.
