The Printing Plant Worker (PPW) position is located within the Office of Currency Manufacturing at the Western Currency Facility. The PPW is fully responsible for delivery of supplies to work areas, and the movement of work from area to area. Position is either located in or requires unescorted access to the production area which requires a high-risk background investigation.

As a Printing Plant Worker (PPW), you will:
- Deliver blank or partially printed stock to various equipment assuring that the paper issued is properly jogged, stacked, and correct for the job.
- Open loads of printing paper stock for the press in the section, making certain that each press is sufficiently supplied with stock for the day to include the predetermined number of sheets pre-stacked (in the preloader) for the next shift.
- Distribute ink in containers of varying sizes and types to presses, carefully checking the job information at each press to assure that the correct ink is delivered. Collect containers and prepare them accordingly (e.g. pre-wipe, trash, empty ink drums etc).
- Maintain adequate supplies such as clean up rags, varsol for the press sump and containers by the press, skids, trays, straps, etc. which are used in the section and also leave adequate supplies for the start of the next shift.

Physical Requirements:
Work is constant and active, requiring full free use of hands and arms, finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Pushes or pulls hand trucks, moves, handles objects weighing up to 1400 pounds and lifts up to 40 pounds. Duties also require considerable walking, standing and stooping.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough.
