Responsibilities:
Obtains and enters into the CRT all biographic, demographic, and insurance information for admissions, same day surgery, short procedures, out patients, non-patients and emergency patients. Operates the Switchboard and the SL-IC night auxiliary phone. Performs miscellaneous hospital communications and clerical duties. Also, completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate Degree in Medical Secretarial Studies preferred (or) High School graduate with two (2) years health care experience. Knowledge of medical terminology as demonstrated by the passage of a recognized medical terminology course will be required within nine (9) months of employment.

Required skills:
Data Entry, typing, filing and general office skills (fax machine, copier, telephone, etc.) required
Courteous public reception and proper telephone etiquette required. Computer experience required.
Must be able to handle stressful situations and numerous interruptions. Must be able to adjust to changing job duties and schedules.
Must have the ability to problem solve. Must have ability to work independently and with a team.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Patient Registration/Admissions Process and Insurance coverage knowledge preferred.
