Position Overview:


We are looking for a motivated and exciting individual to join our Technology team, working on Social Patrol — our exciting social media moderation and reporting platform. We need people who are eager to learn new technologies and figure out a wide variety of solutions. We have a long list of cool features to build, and interesting new problems every day!


Working closely with our development teams, you will ensure that our application performs at the highest level, enabling our service teams to efficiently interact with a wide variety of Social Media networks, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest and many more.


Everyone at ICUC works remote. For this reason, we need individuals who are self-motivated and highly independent. But that is not all — some additional skills you will need are:


  • Solid knowledge of testing and verification of both web clients and server applications.

  • Knowledge of Linux application servers, especially Ubuntu.

  • Experience with distributed source-code control such as Git and Mercurial.

  • Fluency in English and at least one other language.

  • Some knowledge of social media integrations, especially Facebook and/or Twitter applications.

  • Familiarity with a programming languages, especially PHP or Java, but also C/C++, Ruby, Python, Groovy, Scheme, C#, etc.

  • Experience with modern software development practices is definitely nice to have. This includes concepts such as continuous integration, test-driven development, artifact reuse, kanban and agile methodologies.

  • Able and willing to work from home in a remote/virtual capacity fully participating in company activities via Google Apps (Hangouts, Google Email, Google Drive, Google Docs). This usually requires that employees have a space in their homes specifically dedicated to participating on video conferences etc that is quiet and conducive to professional activities.

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check.
