CARE is seeking a Grants Manager for Supporting Access to Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care (SAFPAC) to provide cradle-to-grave grants management and general programmatic support to the Supporting Access to Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care in Emergency Settings (SAFPAC) Initiative. This position provides grants and financial management services to for a large (20+ million/3 years) multi-country program (~ 6 countries/regions) with one major donor. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring effective and timely administration of the grant, contracts and sub agreements through the award life cycle; developing an understanding of donor requirements and expectations for the agreement; ensuring compliance; and coordinating with country offices, program staff, and others throughout CARE and within partner organizations as appropriate. The Grants and Finance Manager (GFM) is responsible for the initial preparation / review, negotiation, due diligence, monitoring and modifications of agreements and contracts as well as the submission of regular reports. In addition the incumbent is charged with any necessary close-of grants. The GFM is responsible for monitoring financial reports and expenditures of countries and regions, and identifying trends associated with over/under expenditure, making recommendations to resolve these, and working with country and regional teams to achieve adequate burn rates and provide timely reports.

Primary Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree and work experience in global health, business, economics, international management, international development or relevant fields of study
- 5+ years work experience in a relevant capacity (e.g. grants management, contract management, accounting, or administrative support)
- Experience with basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting
- Proactive, takes initiative and able to manage one’s work with minimal direction
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with others across countries and cultures and develop and maintain positive working relationships
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, graphs)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including reports and proposal writing
- Understanding of and interest in international health and development
