Responsible for design and development of software embedded in high speed data communication devices. The engineer will add new capabilities to satisfy industry standards and customer requirements. The individual must diagnose and resolve product problems and adapt existing software applications for new hardware and software environments. Should be capable of formulating an approach to testing a product’s features. The engineer will work in a tightly-knit team environment, but they must be capable of functioning effectively without detailed guidance. The engineer should be very familiar with integrating their work into a software project with multiple contributors. The individual should be able to adapt well to changes in projects and requirements. The engineer will sometimes interface directly with customers and so must present a patient and helpful image. Effective spoken and written communication skills are a must. The candidate should have positive outlook on their work, an innovative approach to challenges, and will demonstrate initiative in pursuing the goals of the position.
