Clerical Aide, Sexually Transmitted Disease Control - DEPT OF HEALTH/MENTAL HYGIENE - New York, NY

The mission of Bureau of Sexually Transmitted Disease Control (BSTDC)is to promote sexual health and reduce impact of sexually transmitted infections in NYC. To achieve the these goals, we provide:

– Direct clinical services

– monitor disease trends

– partner with community groups, private providers and other agencies

– perform outreach

– provide education

– conduct research and develop polices to improve sexual health and wellness.


You will be serving as a Clerical Aide within the BSTDC clinic setting:


–Registering patients and scheduling follow-up appointments.


–Answering telephone calls and relaying messages.


–Providing results to patients and information to he public.


–Maintaining patient records and/or charts.


–Recording patient results and other information in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system and other records.


–Compiling statistical data and reports for distribution.

Residency Requirement


New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
