RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
EngilityCorporation is seeking a full-time talentedHuman Resource Specialist with experience in gender equity programs and diversity training in the energy sector. The individual will assist the Energy Sector Technical Leadership (ESTL) project in providing technical assistance and capacity building within energy distribution companies. This project seeks to better attract and promote women and other minority groups to power distribution companies in select countries. The individual will work directly with distribution companies to help them understand the commercial value of building a more diverse labor pool within their companies. It is expected that the Human Resource Specialist will work with both foreign and domestic utility companies. International travel is required.
- Analyze hiring policies in electric utilities to identify obstacles to attracting qualified women candidates and propose policies or actions to mitigate these weaknesses;
- Design technical assistance and evaluate training solutions to gender based obstacles in international commercial firms tailored to specific company needs;
- Coordinate technical assistance and training with other USG or NGO organizations;
- Assist with recruiting of trainers or other consultants that provide assistance to the project;
- Assist with planning and the coordination of training workshops for foreign national staff to improve gender outcomes;
- Track all activities associated with the Engendering Utilities project and report progress and challenges to the Chief of Party.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS: - A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field in Energy Utility Management
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in human resource related work within the energy sector
- Experience with electric utilities, electric distribution companies and/or foreign power distribution companies, with knowledge of human resource policies or best practices on gender and diversity policies
- Experience in human resources, customer assistance departments or management within energy sector firms or utilities;
- Exceptional conceptual, analytical, writing and editing skills, including the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise narratives;
- Strong organizational management and communication skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, time management, adherence to tight deadlines, and the ability to handle multiple activities;
- Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills;
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and fluency in English;
- Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines effectively, and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Gender and Energy sector policy experience
- Experience with international development agencies
- Experience working with senior management and/or board of directors
