Position Overview
The primary function of the pick-pack-pre-wrap position is to pick-pack and pre-wrap customer orders in an accurate and timely manner. Orders are staged and marked in the priority of which they need to be picked and packed by the Pick Captain. All orders are logged onto log sheets daily with the amount of hours it takes to process them. This data gives the quality and management teams the department measurable which is reviewed weekly.
Picker, packer and pre-wrap employees are required to learn all aspects of this position, and to be able to perform at a specific level for each operation.
Essential Job Functions
- – Walk, stand and climb ladders for 8-10 hours a day picking and packing customer orders.
- – Pick and pack stock in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
- – Read and follow instructions from the pick and packing slip.
- – Frequent lifting of weights between 5-60 LB’s.
Non-essential Job Functions
- – Participate in departmental meetings, discussions and special projects
- – Other duties assigned by Team Lead or Supervisor.
Requirements
- – Good math, counting and writing skills.
- – The ability to work in a team environment, and occasionally independently and unsupervised at times.
- – Strong acute attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed written instructions.
- – The ability to learn how to operate scales, labeling and bar coding equipment.
Other Skills/Abilities
- – Maintain clean, safe and tidy work area.
- – strong positive attitude.
