1 st Shift Process Operator – Allied Plant 1

Summary
Assists in the cooking portion of the manufacturing process by performing the following duties.
Hours : A general workweek will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm; additional hours or days may be required due to business demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates potato chip fryers, dough mixers and snack food processing equipment.
Responsible for change over and set up of the mixing, cooking and processing equipment.
Responsible for various support functions in the process area such as, cleaning machine parts after change overs, discarding trash/waste, monitoring tank levels.
Cleans and sanitizes the chip or snack processing area including seasoning trays, machines, walls, floors, ovens, etc.
Records daily machine and process information such as batch counts, start & stop times, oil meter readings, waste recordings, and pounds of flour.
Must operate within Quality Assurance specifications.
Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste as needed, including but not limited to the machine waste catch pans.
Must follow all rules set by the Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP). And Safe Quality Food (SQF) and attend all related meetings and/or training sessions. Must complete post op checklists that are associated with written allergen programs and HACCP. Must be committed to and operate by Manufacturing Execution System (MES) standards and procedures.
Must wear the proper personal protective equipment for performing each duty. Must report unsafe equipment to supervisor on duty. Follow all safety guidelines as described in the HFI safety code of conduct and must attend all safety meetings.
Perform all duties in a safe manner by following all safety guidelines as described in the safety code of conduct. Attends and participates in all safety meetings and is committed to working safely.
Must follow all safety policies and procedures including immediately reporting unsafe issues or equipment to supervisor on duty.
Changes and maintains urschel slicer heads to maintain quality and consistent slices.
Must keep work area clean and organized at all times.
May be requested to temporarily cover work assignments in other areas of production, including Chips, Allied, and Plant 2 according to business demands.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior or recent experience in the operation of Herr’s snack processing or packaging equipment preferred. A good mechanical skill related background preferred.
Must obtain a tow motor license within 90-days of hire.
Must pass a pre-placement screen test demonstrating the ability to perform the physical requirements of the process operator position.

The employee must have vision corrected to 20/30 or better.
The employee must work with airborne seasonings, cardboard dust, work with latex gloves, work with cleaning solutions and work with hands in hot water.
Must be able to maintain sustained concentration for up to three hours at a time.
