Food Svc Aide - Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation - West Orange, NJ





Performs diversified duties relating to food service, including food preparation and cleaning.

Responsibilities


  • Prepares, assembles and delivers patient meals and snacks according to prescribed diets, noting identified allergies.

  • Serves patients in dining room or patient room the correct diet in a pleasant and courteous manner.

  • Assures compliance with regulatory requirements concerning food handling, by following proper sanitation, infection control and risk management guidelines.

  • Utilizes current HACCP plan for the department.

  • Prepares cold food items, including salads, sandwiches, platters, desserts, nourishments, snacks and special items as necessary. May assist in hot production.

  • Performs assignments in cafeteria, including: serving, grilling, stocking, cleaning and handling cash.

  • Operates dish machine and works in pot area, following established sanitation procedures.

  • Assists in preparing catered functions and acts as waiter/waitress for special functions.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous related experience in a hospital environment is preferred but would consider experience in the food service industry. Cashiering experience is required.


Additional Data

Shift: 11 am – 7 pm with alternate weekends.
