Program Manager, Senior

Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data driven engineering, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability.

We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

We are seeking a strong senior program manager who will help us operationalize Azure’s presence in new global markets.   You will then drive the operationalization of Azure into new regions around the globe-managing the project end-to-end, and working across teams to drive business and engineering investments to meet requirements you identify.   In this highly visible role, you will identify tradeoffs, work across disciplines and divisions, balance tactical and strategic initiatives, drive decisions, present to executives, work with customers and partners.   You will point to continents and regions on the map and be able to say "I drove Azure presence there."

Required Skills

• Experience managing datacenters or datacenter related projects

• Demonstrated ability to develop a vision, priorities, plan, and success criteria

• Demonstrated ability to break down ambiguous problems and solve them comprehensively

• Exceptional project management skills, handling multiple concurrent streams of tasks with ease

• Highly effective communication and collaboration across teams

• Highly effective presentation skills to executives, customers and partners

• Demonstrated track record of high-quality, self-directed, timely execution

Experience and Qualification

• 6+ years of project, program, or product management experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field

• Excellent communications skills

• Experience working on international projects a plus
