EMC & RF Compliance Engineer

Microsoft is looking for an EMC & RF Compliance Engineer who can apply his/her excellent technical expertise and project management skills to design, test and deliver some of the leading-edge technology products of the world. As an EMC & RF Compliance Engineer you will represent the compliance team in hardware product development, providing EMC & RF design guidelines, testing and mitigating to place a product in markets across the world. You will collaborate closely with Development Engineers (Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, ASIC, Firmware and Industrial Design), Product Marketing, User Experience, Legal and Localization services. You will be responsible for researching electro-technical requirements for products in areas of EMC and RF and establishing product compliance through design, test and regulatory certification activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate should have BSEE or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience as an EMC & RF Compliance Engineer in the consumer electronics industry. The candidate must have demonstrated strong project management skills and have a good understanding of product compliance.
You must have:
§ EMC design, test and mitigation expertise.
§ Radio Compliance test and mitigation expertise.
§ A good understanding of international EMC & RF regulatory compliance requirements for ITE (at a minimum for the USA, Canada and EU)
§ Strong cross-functional and collaborative team skills.
§ A team orientation with superior interpersonal awareness.
§ Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
§ Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects.
§ Excellent problem solving techniques.
§ Ability to work with ambiguities.
§ Strong organization and documentation abilities.
§ Ability to effectively define world-class processes in specifications and procedures.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
§ Working productively and seamlessly as a member of a skilled team of compliance professionals to deliver EMC & RF Compliant products to markets such US, Canada, EU, etc.
§ Representing EMC & RF electro-technical compliance disciplines in multiple product development teams in various Microsoft business groups.
§ Providing subject-matter expertise in the fields of electromagnetic interference and compatibility such as :
o PCB & system level electrical and mechanical design for EMC Compliance (ex. PCB component placement and routing to meet EMC requirements for Emissions and Susceptibility)
o Electrical schematic review for EMC Design (ex. PCB level EMC protection)
§ Review and translation of customer EMC & RF requirements and procedures into EMC & RF test documents and design concepts.
§ Coordinating all necessary worldwide electro-technical documentation, testing, declarations and certifications.
§ Supporting the EMC & RF Compliance team in the development of common (best) practices.

EDUCATION
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with educational focus in electromagnetic aspects of design and development of electronic systems.
