The Workplace Experiences (WEX) team is looking for talented engineers to grow SharePoint Online and Office 365. In just two short years, Office 365 has built a multi-billion dollar business, winning fans in both the enterprise and small business. Our team is responsible for transforming the Office 365 experiences to be simple, fast, and mobile in a cloud-centric world. It’s a unique opportunity to take the trends, simplicity bar, and fast iteration from a consumer service but combine it with the deep customer connection, exciting business model, and tradition of Microsoft’s success of our enterprise businesses. If you’re ready to work on the cutting edge of delivering cloud services and design experiences people will rely on every day to get their job done, this is the role for you.
OneDrive and SharePoint is the new file system in the cloud for Office and Windows, where company knowledge gets written and shared within the organization. WEX help users have this knowledge available at their fingertips. Our team works in a transparent way to devise delightful experiences by building continual Minimal Viable Products (MVP) and experimentation on the massive scale of Office 365 user base. Engineers work on iterative and data-driven projects collaborating with PM and design to implement straightforward solutions to challenging problems. Folks on our team have an exciting opportunity to increase their influence by taking a rotation as a Tech Lead on such a project.
We work on both web, and native mobile experiences that build upon reliable and scalable cloud services developed in a test-driven way. These will interface with various first and third party enterprise frameworks providing ample opportunity to design for security and performance at service scale. To achieve these goals, we use a wide array of algorithms and software technologies, including C#, Objective C, JavaScript, HTML5 with UI design patterns like MVVM.
You would be a good fit for our team if
1. You are truly passionate about software engineering, with a strong emphasis on agile development.
2. You are excited to work on experiences that span both consumer and business scenarios.
3. You can empathize with our end-users’ needs and help define their key experiences
4. You have a BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
5. You are an awesome, talented developer with at least 5+ years of Software Development experience.
If this resonates with you, come find out how your contribution can impact SharePoint Online and the world.
