Office Specialist
As an Office Specialist, you will perform data entry and clerical duties for the Code Enforcement Unit of the CSPD (Colorado Springs Police Department).
Typical Responsibilities:
Receive, evaluate, document, and disseminate citizen complaints received by telephone, online, and in person
Provide administrative support to code enforcement officers, including but not limited to typing, reviewing documents for accuracy and correct procedure, and mailing notices and orders, certified mailings, and letters
Prepare invoices for contractor work, send billings, track payment, prepare lien documents, certify liens, and file lien releases
Respond to information requests from banks, mortgage companies, and attorneys
Enter case reports for graffiti crime violations into the CSPD records system
Prepare a variety of monthly reports
Prepare noise and special events permits
Provide backup support for the Patrol Support Office Specialist as necessary, including answering telephones and maintaining database
Support the billing and lien process
Examples of Job Competencies
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Access
Knowledge of office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers
Ability to type 40 net words per minute
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Ability to obtain a Colorado Notary Public within six months of hire
The background check for this position includes a polygraph examination.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
One year of full-time responsible clerical or related support experience.
