Performs beginning level duties in services directed toward family self-sufficiency and determining eligibility for public assistance for the Kentucky Transitional Programs (KTAP). Interviews clients/applicants for KTAP. Maintain contact with each participant to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of progress toward goals. Schedule and conduct needs assessment based on participant history and current situations and learns to screen for risk factors and barriers. Solicit information and develop participant transitional assistance plans for families abased on their needs and capabilities. Respond to participant/provider questions regarding policy and procedure. Refer and/or direct job ready participants to other agencies specializing in placement activities. Authorize or otherwise arrange with participants for supportive services during Kentucky Works Participation (KWP).

Participates in formal and on-the-job training and performs beginning level duties in the assessment and provision of family centered services directed toward family self-sufficiency including determining continuing eligibility for public assistance programs; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Performs duties in an office setting and will occasionally visit clients in their home.

Upon appointment, employees in this class may be required to maintain a valid driver’s license and required to drive a licensed vehicle. This status may be necessary for the length of time in this class. If this is necessary it will be listed in the specific position description for that position. Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check. Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317.
