OCEAN is a non-profit organization which sponsors high school exchange students from many countries around the world. We are seeking volunteer host families to host our exchange students for the 2015/2016 school year and we are seeking area representatives that can assist us with the recruitment of volunteer host families.
Job Description:
- The Area Representative for Exchange Students is a home-based position that allows you to set your own schedule. Their job is to recruit volunteer host families for high school exchange students.
- It is considered a supplemental job.
- If you enjoy learning about other cultures, this is a perfect job for you.
- Area Representatives can work with host families that live within 120 miles from their home; but they can also choose how far they are willing to go.
- Area Representatives can recruit host families by communicating friends/family/acquaintances in churches, schools, farmer’s markets, clubs, libraries, recreational centers etc…
- Once the student is placed with the host family and is accepted at the local public school, the area representative must fulfill the following responsibilities for the school year:
Communicate with the student/host family every month to see how things are going. Complete monthly evaluation reports Assist the student/host family if any problems occur. OCEAN’s main office will always be available to assist local representatives/host families/students with anything that they may need.
Compensation :
The pay depends on experience. Inexperienced area representatives can earn up to $600 per student that they place. Experienced area representative can earn up to $1,000 per student that they place.
