Nazareth Hospital, a member of the Mercy Health System located in Northeast Philadelphia, currently has a position available for a patient access representitive to join our team. Nazareth Hospital provides a full array of healthcare services including nationally certified stroke care, heart failure care and joint replacement.
The primary function of the position is to greet, pre-register and/or register patients in a courteous and professional manner, verify insurance benefits and check for the necessity of pre-certification, authorization and referral. Secure patient signatures for required hospital forms and collection of patient’s financial responsibility when required. The position is also responsible for providing professional, quality customer service, timely resolution to customer problems, and coordination of services to all customers. Associates Degree or 2 years Customer Service experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Experience with PC use and performing basic activities including word processing and database entry, creating spreadsheets and accessing the Internet. Previous medical terminology and insurance knowledge preferred. Previous customer service experience required. Previous experience with insurance eligibility systems including Medicaid, Medicare, and other commercial and private payor eligibility systems preferred.
SCHEDULE IS 7AM-3:30PM THURSDAY-SUNDAY 3 WEEKS/MONTH AND THURSDAY, FRIDAY ON WEEK/MONTH.
