Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of the juvenile justice system, court proceedings, and laws as it relates to juveniles and families; Ability to interpret regulations, guidelines and statutes; Knowledge and experience in interviewing practices, assessing clientâ??s needs, and the submission of referrals for community-based services; Experience in processing delinquent and domestic petitions; Knowledge of alternatives to formal court processing and diversion programs; Ability to make sound independent decisions and manage time effectively; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and the ability to work with diverse socio-economic groups and populations is needed. A valid driverâ??s license is required by the time of employment. Preferred Qualifications A bachelorâ??s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Progressive experience in counseling troubled youth and families in a juvenile justice setting. Special Requirements All applicants are subject to a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen. The investigation may include: fingerprint checks (State Police, FBI); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (relevant to employment); credit checks; and other checks requested by the hiring authority. All applicants must possess a valid driver’s license prior to the first day of employment. |
