The Associate, Resource Mobilization is a key member of the U.S. Office Team with responsibility to the Director, US Office. This post holder will support resource mobilization processes, especially for USAID, supporting accurate and efficient research and reporting in line with best practice and organizational policy. The Associate will coordinate systems for identifying, tracking and pursuing new business opportunities, and support donor relations and reporting with U.S.-based government and private sector donors. There are no direct supervisory responsibilities in this role but the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with colleagues is critical.
Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Support the U.S.-based resource mobilization (fundraising) effort, including:
- Conducting prospect and donor research (with a particular focus on USAID and other USG donors)
- Tracking funding opportunities (research on upcoming RFPs, research on potential partners/competitors) and keeping all organizational tracking systems up to date
- Supporting the proposal development process for competitive bids, including research on prospective primes, the production and assembly of administrative, technical and cost components as needed
- Managing calendar of proposals and alerting staff of all relevant due dates
Donor Relations and Reporting
- Support proposal development and donor reporting, including:
- Preparing external presentations and background briefings for donor meetings and external events
- Coordinating the assembly of key deliverables, including donor work plans, quarterly financial and semi-annual reports
- Liaising with country and Initiative staff to respond to ad hoc donor requests
- Developing materials that support efforts to raise the visibility of the U.S. office
- Managing calendar of donor reports and meetings and alerting staff of all relevant due dates
Knowledge Management
- Support U.S. resource mobilization knowledge management processes, including:
- Maintaining an accurate view of financial pipeline for internal team meetings and reports
- Managing the organization of submitted concept notes, proposals and other donor communications on GAIN’s U.S. Programme Development SharePoint “library”
- Developing appropriate charts, tables and annexes as needed
Experience
- At least 2-3 years in a similar role with a global public health or international development organisation or company of equal standing.
- SalesForce, Serenic Navigator, Serenic Awardvision, Jet Reporting would be an advantage.

- Experience with USAID grants, cooperative agreements and contracts and the bid process.

- Reliable and enjoys working in a multi-cultural, cross functional team with flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Computer literacy with excellent MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.
- Knowledge and familiarity with one or more of the following functional areas: accounting, travel, contracts and agreements.
- Comfortable in dealing with a wide range of internal and external clients – program staff, regional offices, banks, vendors, and consultants.
Education
- Bachelors degree (concentration in economics, international development or public health a plus)
