The Communication for Education and Gender Equality team, within UNICEF’s Division of Communication is seeking an onsite full time consultant to assist in the development and implementation of a number of data visualization products and manage education-related websites. The consultant will work in mining data from Education reports and databases with the goal of designing and developing evidence-based data visualization products that will be used as tools for public advocacy. The consultant will also regularly update the Learning for Peace website (on education in emergencies and peacebuilding), all in school (on Out-of-school children) and the UNICEF Education pages with the latest content, and conduct outreach to share resources with a wide audience. Responsibilities: Edits for continuity, logical arrangement, readability, clarity of expression, and internal consistency. Ensures that material adheres to established editorial standards and conforms to UNICEF policy, practices and style.
Experience/Skills:
• Advanced university degree in international relations, communication, journalism, or related fields;
• Five years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in international development, communication, print, broadcast, and/or new media;
• Knowledge of data visualization software and experience having worked visualizing development data
• Previous management of websites and experience with web-content management systems including WordPress and RedDot.
• Excellent English writing and editing skills, knowledge of another UN language a plus;
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of UNICEF"s priorities and work in education and gender equality.
• Excellent communication skills;
• Demonstrated success in networking and working in a multi-cultural team;
• Work experience in developing countries a plus;
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
