IRC teams provide health care, infrastructure, learning and economic support to people in 40 countries, with special programs designed for women and children. Every year, the IRC resettles thousands of refugees in 25 U.S. cities.


The Corporate Alliances Team is situated within the Strategic Development Team in the Revenue Department which is primarily responsible for acquiring and engaging new IRC audiences and prospective donors. Collegiate units on this team include Strategic Events, Direct Response, and Digital Advertising and Marketing.


Job Overview/Summary:


Under the direction of the Senior Officer, Corporate Alliances, the Manager, Corporate Alliances will support the Corporate Alliances existing portfolio management and assist with the development of pilot projects to advance the strategic objectives of the Corporate Alliances and Strategic Development Departments" goals: a) engaging younger and international audiences b) institutionalizing an annual New Roots Restaurant Fundraising & Lead Generation campaign and c) developing turn-key campaign marketing assets for corporate alliances. Support activities will include prospecting research, database management, identifying common goals and strategies with other corporate facing stakeholders at the IRC, and content development for pitches, proposals and cultivation. The Manager will generate written content for marketing collateral, social media, proposals, as well as partner reports and communications. As the Corporate Alliances portfolio partners expand to European markets, the Manager will correspondingly provide guidance on tweaking existing messaging for European and other global markets.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Manages internal communications and production calendars to optimize corporate alliance accounts through the Strategic Development team"s initiatives (direct response, digital, special events and celebrity relations).

  • Develops regular turn-key content for the Corporate Alliance Program and tracks its impact on employee engagement, social media impressions, and lead generation.

  • Designs content for global audiences, and when applicable/possible, alters messaging based on global audiences, and when possible, provides translation support.

  • Identifies opportunities for, and organizes in-kind sponsorships of IRC events and initiatives.

  • Liases with marketing colleagues to compile and package the Revenue Department"s marketing assets and materials for partnerships.

  • Liaises with Corporate Alliance colleagues on research initiatives in US Programs, such as employment placement analysis, youth programming/ Leaders in Training (LITs) alumni groups Job and Resource Developers, Procurement, Emergency Response Unit, and Economic Empowerment programs for information and program updates for partners

  • Manages and maintains a database of partner contacts, success metrics, and tracks relationship communications and actions

  • Contributes to strategic planning for a number of Corporate Alliance and Strategic Development initiatives.

  • Processes partner contracts, cause-marketing promotion agreements, invoicing and tracking of project expenses.

  • Supports Corporate Alliances portfolio through prospecting research, cultivation communications and partnership stewardship.

  • Project manages an annual cross-departmental New Roots marketing and fundraising campaign inclusive of an inaugural Restaurant-based fundraising initiative.

  • Special projects as assigned by the Senior Officer.

Job Requirements:


  • Based in New York City area

  • 3 years of experience working in non-profit fundraising, retail accounts management, marketing or communications in the public or private sector

  • Undergraduate or Master"s degree in International Studies, Marketing, Communications, or Business related fields is a plus.

  • Knowledge of international affairs, humanitarian work, and/or refugee and immigrant populations

  • The ability to work independently and also as part of an inter-departmental team

  • Strong writing skills

  • Organized, detail oriented, strong inter-personal skills, and professional demeanor

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Experience with Fundraising Databases – especially Salesforce

  • Experience with Prezi a plus

  • Social Media Saavy a plus

  • Experience in the hospitality, food and restaurant industry a plus

  • French, Spanish and/or German language proficiency a plus
