Broadcom’s Broadband and Connectivity Group has an extensive offering of digital cable, satellite and terrestrial TV set-top box products incorporating silicon tuners and a wide range of demodulator technologies.






 






The frontend set-top box group has an immediate opening for a Hardware Engineer focusing on tuner and demodulator test, development and support.






 






As a member of the cable and terrestrial set-top box frontend team, the candidate will be exposed to Broadcom’s unique full band capture tuner technologies as well as the latest cable and terrestrial digital communications solutions.






 






Career responsibilities:






  • The primary responsibility will be to complete development of a Python-based automated test environment to test and characterize cable and terrestrial tuner/demodulator performance.


  • The candidate will also contribute in tuner and demodulator firmware development for set-top box platform hardware designs.

 






Desired skills and qualifications:






  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years of experience


  • Working knowledge and experience using Python or another object oriented programming language


  • C/C++ programming experience


  • Knowledge or experience in Digital Communications and/or DSP a plus


  • Comfortable working in a hands-on lab environment with printed circuit boards and test equipment
