Job Description






The Network Switch Group at Broadcom has brought some of the most complex and cutting edge networking ASIC’s and multi-chip solutions to market over the last decade. The group develops ASIC’s for L2/L3 switch routing. These products support the latest networking protocols and features as well as manage extremely large volumes of traffic of the order of several Terabits/sec. These networking ASIC’s support a large number of ports ranging from 10/100Mb/s, 1Gb/s, 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s speeds as well as various line interfaces and protocols.






 






We are looking for bright, motivated and hardworking engineer to join our top notch chip design engineering team.






As a hardware engineering intern you will be exposed to state of the art switch systems silicon validation process.






You will participate in data collection and debugging of cutting edge 28nm CMOS and  16nm FinFet VLSI issues of all network switch related IPs. 






 






The candidate will be part of Infrastructure and Networking team at Broadcom.  Responsibility includes:






 






Job Requirements






  • Participate in production functional testing of high end top of rack class data center switches and systems,


  • Perform ATE 93K/Ultraflex tester correlation with bench testing


  • Perform power analysis and correlation to  chip/system specs


  • Perform PVT correlation testing to support switch chips from first silicon to productization


  • Strong software scripting skills to support and operate silicon testing platforms


  • Ability to create meticulous and professional documents/reports of test results for chip leads and driving debug discussions with IP designers


  • Ability to understand IP spec,  validation plan and execute accordingly (i.e high speed SerDes, PLL, Memories) 


  • Ability  to work in lab testing environment


  • Verilog RTL coding, Synthesis,  timing closure  knowledge


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • VLSI knowledge and memory design is a plus


  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies is a plus

 






Efficient in following skills:






  • Basic Verilog coding


  • Synthesis using Synopsys tool suite


  • Timing Analysis using Synopsys Primetime tool


  • Linux


  • Strong scripting skills :  Tcl and Expect a plus, or Perl, Python
