ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Installs pre-assembled backboard with network electronics inside buildings
- Splice fiber optic cables for both loose tube and ribbon optic cables.
- Constructs proper splice cases, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.
- Runs jumpers to provide connectivity inside facility
- Places drop wire connecting facility with fiber access point
- Performs terminal splicing operation
- Utilizes test equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting and verifying the integrity of circuits
- Uses hand tools to assemble and install data communication lines
- May provision fiber optic network nodes by terminating main control panels, racks and other equipment; performs tests on all circuits from field devices to the main control panels and/or equipment
- May include assisting with conduit placement at customer facility
- Records and tracks network interface device serial number for purpose of inventory management
