Job Summary :
- Maintains patient medical charts / records in accordance with Federal regulations (i.e. HIPAA) and SNC standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains patient medical records and associated reports and information by filing and pulling charts as necessary.
- Purges and takes corrective actions necessary to maintain organized files in compliance with SNC standards.
- Prepares charts and related materials for the following day’s schedule
- Files and forwards copies of medical requests as necessary and required.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting to maintain a neat and orderly office, filing and patient reception area.
- Cross-train with front desk / reception and scheduling as needed.
- Participates in other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some experience as a scheduler or receptionist, preferably in a medical or physician office.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Computer records system experience.
- Must have clerical training, which includes typing, basic filing skills, and fundamental understanding of office procedures.
- Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and printers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Conveys a professional and positive image and attitude regarding SNC.
Physical Demands:
- High energy level.
- Knowledge and use of proper body mechanics.
- Some ergonometric and eye strain.
- Varying standing and sitting for extended periods of time throughout day.
- Occasional lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
