Clinic Asst III (Referral Coordinator) - Patient Access job - Stanford Health Care - Palo Alto, CA

Functions as a member of the clinic patient care team to coordinate and facilitate scheduling. Applies principles and expert knowledge to manage assigned responsibilities. Although assistance is generally available for unusual or difficult situations, the Referral Coordinator is expected to handle most situations independently using general guidelines. Good performance is highly dependent on gaining the cooperation of others.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.


Education:
High School diploma (or GED Equivelant).


Prefer


Bachelor’s degree


Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a Clinic or Medical Center. Knowledge of health insurance, medical terminology and Experience with answering high call volumes


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to use keyboard, mouse and knowledge of computers and systems.


Ability to read and direct clinical orders and navigate to the appropriate clinic or specialist


Ability to Work independently


Ability to Problem solve


Ability to Manage multiple priorities


Outstanding customer service skills


Polished telephone etiquette including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively


Ability to interface effectively with high-level professionals, managers and other clients


Ability to navigate electronic medical record system
