We are currently looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst to join our head office Finance function.

This role would suit an ACCA/CIMA studier with 2 years plus practical experience in a busy Finance team.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Ensure Biffa’s financial controls and processes are followed.

  • Carry out monthly account reconciliations.

  • Work with the Regional Operational team and Regional Finance Analysts at period-end to ensure information submissions are made on time and in full.

  • Assist with re-forecasting and budgeting.

  • To provide support for query resolution for any issues that arises on the depot and transfer stations P&Ls.

  • Maintain other key performance data as required.

  • Month end accounts preparation, variance analysis and financial commentaries

  • Deputise for Regional Financial Analyst when required

  • Work closely with operational administration departments to ensure efficient ‘right first time’ processing of transactions and consistent processes between depots

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Able to communicate effectively in writing, on a one to one basis and by phone with a range of people.

  • Good experience of purchase order processing and sales invoicing.

  • Experience of financial period-end processes, forecasting and budgeting.

  • Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise.

  • Able to problem solve.

  • Computer literate including strong Excel skills.

  • To be flexible and have the ability to multi-task.

  • Actively studying towards ACCA / CIMA
