Responsibilities:
Assure all Southwest Airlines flights are staffed in compliance with Company, contractual and regulatory requirements.
WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:
Provide Positively Outrageous Service and communicate effectively with others.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn.
Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of the job and a positive attitude even in difficult situations.
Complete all Company and CFAR required training. Read, understand and apply Company email directives and changes to policy.
Safely, legally and efficiently assign qualified Pilots to Southwest flights.
Send open time alerts, close and award open time processes. Efficiently make use of fresh and inbound reserve Pilots.
Timely and accurate notification to Pilots regarding assignments and reroute. Use of ACARS and other electronic messaging.
Monitor and resolve flight validation.
Recording and tracking of absences and late reports
Booking hotel reservations and tracking in related systems.
Assist with daily and monthly checklists.
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
May be required to perform other job duties as directed by the Employee’s Leaders.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalency required. College coursework preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1 year previous business computer experience
Minimum 1 year previous experience in a Customer Service related position.
Previous work experience in a fast paced, multi-variable influenced position.
Previous experience in scheduling/assigning people to job tasks desirable but not required.
Previous airline or other transportation related operations experience desirable but not required.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:
Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team.
Must be able to operate a Microsoft Windows based computer
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally by email, telephone, records keeping systems and in person.
Must be able to perform mathematical computations using decimals and/or hours and minutes, both with and without a calculator
Able to read and comprehend written documents including federal regulations, labor contracts and company material
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; learn, understand and follow office policies and procedures.
Must have judgment sufficient to handle and resolve complex administrative tasks with assistance.
Must have ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions.
Must have excellent problem solving, interpersonal, & time management skills.
Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to type or use a computer keyboard.
Must be able to work under tight time constraints and in high stress situations to accomplish assignments.
Must be able to maintain focus on tasks at hand while working in a busy and distracting environment.
Must be a self-starter
Must have ability to work in a stressful environment under tight time constraints.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must be able to work rotating shifts including midnight shifts
Must be able to work overtime if required
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance
Must be able to work in an office environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
