Project & Process Manager
Biffa is the leading nationwide integrated waste management business providing collection, treatment, recycling and technologically-driven energy generation services. Through the expertise of our people and investment in technology we promote and deliver sustainable waste management solutions.
The I&C Division generates revenues of over £500m pa and employs over 2,500 staff across 65 locations in the UK.
Over the past 3 years the Division has been engaged in a business turnaround programme which has made the business increasingly profitable and more efficient. There is still a lot to do in driving continuous improvement to our key processes whilst also delivering a wide range of ‘business as usual’ projects so that we further strengthen the division as the UK’s leading C&I collection business.
We are therefore looking to strengthen our Project Management team with an additional role of ‘Project & Process Manager’. This role will work alongside our existing team and will work on a number of operational, commercial and customer facing projects already identified for Fy16.
Process & Project Manager – The Role:-
- To manage and successfully deliver specific projects / work streams undertaken by the I&C Division.
- Process map the existing business state, the future state and implement reengineered solutions.
- Continually monitor and improve the performance of each key business process, complete root cause analysis of potential issues and recommend improvement actions.
- Introduce sound project management methodology to each work stream/project
- Being proactive to recognise business changes that may impact on the existing process and also to highlight opportunities to improve existing process, procedure and reporting.
- Provide training and support as and when required to the key stakeholders of each project/work stream.
Process & Project Manager – key Requirements
- A detailed understand of Business Process Management (BPM) and/or other process improvement/optimisation methodology (eg – Prince 2/Six Sigma/Lean Sigma)
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills
- Resilience and persistence able to influence the actions of others
- High degree of intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand how our business works
- Strong knowledge of program application development methodologies.
- Strong general management capability with an ability to buy in key stakeholders and to complete projects and implement change.
