Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive Career Planning and Placement Services Center
Provide Enrollment counseling to all undecided students to assist students in identifying and exploring career opportunities by conducting individual and group career counseling.
Administer career interest assessment inventories to assist students in making career decisions, or when questioning their current course of study.
Partner with Educational Opportunities and Workforce Innovations Departments to design, market and conduct campus-wide, career-related seminars/workshops regarding job ready/work ready topics.
Work closely with faculty to provide career workshops and classroom presentations for students.
Develop and nurture existing employer relationships in the region and identify/cultivate relationships with new employers for possible student employment.
Maintain a job posting service that includes online resources related to career development and job placement for employers and students
Offer a comprehensive spring semester career/job fairs and provide related smaller scale opportunities to bring potential employers to campus for student job placement.
Research current trends in job markets and career trends.
Document service provided to students, faculty and staff.
Provide leadership for Career Coach.
Other duties as assigned

Conduct placement score counseling as needed with applicants during peak service periods
Serve as a member of college committees
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Masters Degree in Counseling or related discipline with an emphasis on Career Counseling
Knowledge and Skills:
Three years of related work experience required.
Requires a strong commitment to meeting student needs
Administration and interpretation of various career assessment inventories
Ability to utilize career planning systems and occupational information
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to do effective, engaging presentations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to function as part of a team
Ability to independently plan, initiate and complete assignments
Ability to work cooperatively with local and regional employers and organizations
Basic knowledge of a student information system
Ability to organize and process high volume of work under pressure
Excellent computer skills
Physical Demands:
Occasional lifting of recruiting/promotional materials (boxes of catalogs, college display, etc)
Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, unusual environmental conditions, etc.):
Limited local travel; extended working hours during peak service periods such as registration and drop/add
