We are staffing up our critical Applications Engineering efforts in our Austin, Texas location! The PWI (Processors and Wireless Infrastructure) team of Broadcom Corporation is well known in the semiconductor industry for providing super high-performance network processors.


You will get to work with the some of the most complex chips ever created (including the highest performance, most flexible, best performance/Watt communications processors on the planet). Broadcom’s newest ARM based Vulcan and the XLP MIP based Multi-Core and Multi-Threaded products coupled with highly integrated networking and application-aware accelerators offers devices that are highly-scalable device and incorporate key functions of a high-end communication system, including wired and wireless security, networking, storage, data center acceleration, load balancing, and other acceleration engines.


Primary responsibilities include assisting the Field Team (Sales and FAEs) with pre-sales activities including analysis of how the ARM and XLP processors can be applied to customer applications. Post-sales field support activities include debugging critical customer issues that might arise and devising additional applications/software that will rapidly enable customer solutions to production. You will also be expected to develop demonstration applications, author white papers, and assist with high-priority debug issues. – Total engineering minimum experience required is typically a BS degree and 6 years of experience, an MS degree and 3 years of experience or a PhD or equivalent. BS (EE/Electrical Engineering or CS/Computer Science) required, MS (EE or CS) preferred. Knowledge of ARM architecture and proficiency in C, (C++), Python, and Linux are all  definite pluses.
