Providing radio frequency, baseband, system and complete software support to OEMs and system integrators, Broadcom’s Bluetooth chips enable the wireless sharing of data among scores of electronic devices, from mobile phones and wireless stereo headsets to PDAs, PCs and automobiles.
In this unique position you will function as a firmware engineer involved with the technologies of Bluetooth coexistence solutions with other wireless technologies, such as WLAN and LTE. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
– Working closely with Systems, ASIC design, and Firmware engineering to participate in architecture design and trade off discussions
– Design and implement FW systems to closely work with the underline ASIC to provide the best performances and lowest power in its class in the industry
– Verify various HW blocks before chip tapeout based on the defined usage scenarios
– Debug issues with the HW, system, and FW team members that are reported by internal SVT or external customers
– Enjoy working with the brightest, creative, results-oriented, and fun-filled engineers
Requirements:
• Typically requires an MSCS/MSEE degree and 0-3+ years of related experience or a PhD and with little to no related experience
• 1+ years embedded firmware development experience
• Proficient in the use of the C or C++ programming language
• Experience with any wireless communication protocols such as NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, LTE, CDMA
• Experience with some transport protocols such as SWP, RS232, I2C, SPI, USB
• Experience with embedded RTOS and Simulation environment
• Experience with low level driver firmware
• Team player and excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
