Role Description:


The Program Manager, Logistics & Forwarding will report to the Executive Director and will be the day-to-day interface with airlines and NGOs in order to respond to humanitarian cargo flight requests. He or she will have responsibility for all air shipment logistics during humanitarian events, and will be responsible for building Airlink’s response capability between humanitarian events. This role will combine the skill sets of a relationship manager with those of a logistics professional.


Responsibilities:


Humanitarian Disaster Response


  • Act as day-to-day interface with airline partners.

  • Oversee and execute logistics during humanitarian disaster response.

  • Act as central coordinator between nonprofit shippers, airline cargo professionals, and the freight forwarding community.

  • Establish and build a logistics partner network that will facilitate rapid response aid cargo distribution during times of disaster.

  • Ensure timeliness and quality of mission reports produced by NGOs.

Administrative


  • Administrate Advisory Council and volunteer meetings and conference calls including scheduling, in-meeting support and follow up

  • Manage Airlink’s participation in aviation industry events

  • Produce well-written and accurate meeting minutes with minimal oversight.

Required Skills / Qualifications:


  • College degree.

  • Significant work experience in air cargo and/or freight forwarding logistics.

  • Well organized; good writer; articulate.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with some experience managing relationships.
