JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Purpose
- Under the direct supervision of the Desktop Publishing Department Manager, to complete graphic design and layout (formatting) projects in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. May provide support to Intern Desktop Publishers as needed. May participate in special projects as requested.
NOTE: Following training period, the work schedule for the position will include afternoon to late evening hours (Monday – Friday). See shift details in Work Schedule section.
Essential Functions
- Understands and adheres to company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements including but not limited to ISO 9001 and EN 15038 standards.
- Completes assigned desktop publishing and/or typesetting projects in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
- Troubleshoots and problem-solves document or file issues such as fonts, artwork or other depictions, graphs, tables, etc., and determine best course of action
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date client files, databases, archives, or records as needed.
- Composes or generates a variety of materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, manuals, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information regarding the status of projects, etc.
- May provide support to Intern Desktop Publishers as needed.
- May participate in special projects as requested.
Additional Duties
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Desktop Publishing Department or other company goals and objectives.

Equipment
- Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, scanner, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
Work Schedules
- Twelve months per year, standard work schedule as needed to successfully meet individual and department goals and objectives, and meet employee and client needs, including a reasonable amount of overtime as needed.
- Work schedule following initial training: Afternoon to late evening hours (Monday through Friday)

- Knowledge of desktop publishing design and layout procedures.
- Excellent proofreading skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form, and to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, Across).
- Ability to problem solve job-related issues.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding company financial and other proprietary information.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Qualification Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High School Diploma.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to become MOS Word Proficient Certified within six months.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, English, Foreign Language, Social or Applied Science, or other related field preferred.
- Translation industry experience preferred.
